A bum Halloween
That's right, disapointing, not one trick-or-treater! I guess when you have all of these big houses around, why bother with the little apartments! We carved our pumkins yesterday, those turned out good, and the pumpkin pie was good too. We waited, and waited, but no little knocks! Now we have all of this candy we don't like, (we sorted out the candy we do like and are keeping that for lunches!!) I guess that's ok. Maybe next wear we will know better.

Our October
Well, October has come and is just about gone. The first two weekends of October we went camping. The first week we went to the Pinecrest campgrounds in the Stanislaus National Forest with two of our couple friends, Larry & Erica, and Nino& Jen. That was fun, and the weather was nice and warm. We spent time playing games, eating, chatting, eating, being by the fire, and eating some more! It was a long drive up there and back, but we would do it again. Our second camping trip was in the Eldorado National Forest, at a place called Pollock Pines. My Uncle Woody and Aunt LaDena, who live about two hours north of us, invited us to go camping with them for the weekend. We stayed with them in their RV at a place called Ghost Mountain Ranch (http://www.ghostmountainranch.com/). Ghost Mountain Ranch is a resort site that offers cabins, RV facilities, and tent camping, along with a lodge, pool horses, and a ghost town, which was once the set for the television show “The Virginian”. It was beautiful up there, and even though there were no fires, allowed, the weather was still enjoyable. We arrove on Friday night about 9, and had a good visit. Saturday we went to Apple Hill. We enjoyed all the smells of the trees, the apples, and all of the fresh baked goodies and other yummy food that was there. We made three stops. Our first stop was Bill’s Apples and Felice’s Dolls (mostly just to look). The second stop was Grandpa’s Cellar for the apple butter, cinnamon apple sauce, apples, and dessert. I had the Pumpkin apple pie, and Michael had the Sour cream Apple Pie. There were so many wonderful desserts it was hard to choose. Out third and final stop was to Pluebell’s Family Orchard where we ate great chili and had BBQ tri tip sandwiches with apple slaw and beans! Everything was so good, I was absolutely stuffed! Saturday night we played several games of sequence. Sunday we took a scenic drive to Lake Tahoe. Since neither of us had ever seen Lake Tahoe we went to the 18th floor of Harrah’s hotel and looked out of the windows that were there. The lake was so blue, it looked to me like what the Caribbean, or some tropical water would look like. It’s really nice to have some family close by, and also to have some friends that we can see from time to time. The rest of the month has been nothing big. It’s nice to have Michael home this month, and not in training. This Saturday we are going with some friends that we have here, to a pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins to carve that night. I’ll make pumpkin pies for that night too, and we can just have fun and eat! We had an earthquake on Monday, it was a 3.9 in Gilroy. And that’s the news from us at this time.

looking for a pumpkin patch???
I was looking for a pumpkin patch, and found
pickyourown.org
from that site I found
pumpkinpatchesandmore.org
There really aren't alot of choices in our county, but in Snohomish county...there are some really neat ones. just one example is this farm:
Carleton Farm
Here they have a pumkin cannon, pumpkins, hayrides, and even food, animals, etc...I counted over 15 farms just in snohomish county. At the pumpkin patches and more, it's really easy to use, find your state, and then lok fore your county.
