Baby update

My 34 week Dr.'s appointment was yesterday. I had an ultrasound before I met with the Dr. Everything is looking good and I got several pictures from the ultrasound. The baby is head down, and I have even started to dilate. Right now at 34 weeks the baby is weighing in at about 5 1/2 lbs. It's estimated that at this point the baby will gain about 1/2 a lb. a week until she is born. When I had my ultrasound with Luke at 36 weeks, he was weighing in at about 7 lbs. Luke was induced a week early and weighed at birth 8 lbs. 4 oz. So I'm thinking I very well may have another 8+ lb. baby. I'm hoping that my Dr. will induce me at least a week early with this baby too...even a bit earlier would be okay with me too! I have another appointment in 2 weeks, and then my appointments go to every week. It's getting down to the wire!

I still have some things I would like to have done actually get done around here before Cassie gets here. They may or may not get done, I just can't do some of the things on the list...or I should say I shouldn't do some of the things on my list because it's just not safe for me to do...standing on a very tall ladder for instance. So I wait for Michael to help me with that list, I'm just not a very patient person right now, I need things to get done! I can pretty much cross off the garage from my list, I did that the other day. And the bulk trash that I wanted to get out went out Sunday night, so that is done (still need to take a couple of things to the dump since bulk trash wouldn't take them), I have the baby clothes all washed and put away. I have organized all of the clothes Luke has grown out of and put them away. So the small stuff is done. Oh, and I have been slowly putting meals (not made but bought, I just don't have it in me to make extra meals) in the freezer that Michael will be able to help out with dinner. And as time gets closer I may just have to toss up my hands and say oh well, what gets done gets done and what doesn't doesn't and admit defeat!

Not one tear was shed

Luke had his first day of nursery today! And no one cried...not even me! I think I was so glad to not have to chase Luke through out the halls of church today that it was a relief. Even if it does remind me that my baby is getting bigger, and really not a baby anymore....which is fine, because I'll be having another one here soon enough! Michael and I both took him in, showed him were the toys were, and that was that. Didn't even look back! Michael was able to look through the little peep hole in the door a couple of times and all was well! They did have to bring him to us once for a diaper change, and then when Michael took him back he got upset just a bit and then was fine. Here's hoping kindergarten will be this easy on all of us!

Field trip

Well, not really, but were going to call it that! These pictures are from our trip to Seattle. In the 3 weeks Luke and I were there I actually didn't take that many pictures...I guess we were busy. One of the days we were there my Dad took us to Ft. Lewis in Tacoma. There was a retirement party for one of the guys he use to work with (my dad retired last year), so we made the drive down there. So here are some pictures that I did take!

Luke really like the Chinook helicopter that was in the hanger, especially all of the buttons and knobs there were in the cockpit, and he loved all the space there was to run around. The food was good too, and Granddad gave him his first taste of root beer! This is one of my favorite pictures of him that day, I just wish the lights in the hanger didn't reflect so much on the windows, but I love how big his smile is!

Me at 32 weeks, requested pictures...

The first picture is me at 32 weeks pregnant with Luke. The second picture is me 32 weeks pregnant with Cassie, sorry it's a bit fuzzy, maybe I should have Michael take the pictures, but if he did that I couldn't say that he wouldn't get my head in the picture. I should have worn the same shirt for the picture. And I've decided that maybe, just maybe, the camera isn't my friend this time around. I had an OB appointment yesterday, and things are well. I have another appointment Tuesday the 28th and at that appointment I'll have an ultrasound and that is when we will all have a good idea of what Cassie weighs then, and then a guess on how big she will be when she is born. I think I'll cry if I have another big baby, but then hopefully if she is that big, she can be induced early, like Luke was.

Maybe I shouldn't mumble....

....because I don't want Michael to call me Shamu again!....

It did provide us with a good laugh, I had tears in my eyes...from laughing, not name calling! Let me explain...

Saturday we went over to Michael's parents house to celebrate Easter and have Easter dinner since his Arizona sister was in town. After dinner Michael and I were the only ones left at the table. The kids and parents were off doing an egg hunt (Luke was in bed before dinner) and a few others were cleaning up after dinner. I don't move very fast these days, so it was no surprise to me that I was still at the table.

I found myself saying..."I can't move".
Michael looks at me and says (questioning) "Shamu?"
"What did you just call me?... I said I couldn't move!"

We then were laughing so hard that we had to fill in the rest of the family so they could laugh with us.

I guess that will teach me not to mumble...

I have another OB appointment this Thursday, I'll have to remember to take an updated picture the blog.

Michael's 33rd Birthday

Let's backtrack...I can't believe that I didn't even make one single post in March! Luke and I were out of town for the last three weeks of March, but we were here for the first 9 days. I could have at least blogged about Michael's Birthday before I left...so I will start at the beginning of March and work my way up til I am caught up. Here are some pictures...

We celebrated Michael's Birthday twice. We had his parents over and grilled some yummy tri-tip steaks and I made him a strawberry swirl cake on his actual birthday. And on the weekend we went over to his parents for dinner and I made him another cake, and we celebrated with his parents and a couple of his siblings! And in case you are wondering about the picture of the strawberry...I just love strawberries from Costco, they are the biggest and the tasteiest so I put one in the palm of my hand (even though my hands are on the small side) and took a picture! Because I could! I even used the same "Happy Birthday Michael" banner that for Michael 6 years ago and we have used every year.

Happy Birthday Michael, I love you!

Picture of Luke

While we were in Seattle my Sister in Law Adrianne took some pictures of Luke. I'm just going to call them his 18 month pictures, even though he's a month shy of 18 months! Adrianne did a great job and I can't wait to have some of these printed off and put on my walls!

We are back...

Luke and I got back Tuesday night from our 3 week long visit to the Seattle area. We had a good time, it was good to get some extra rest, and to have Luke play with family! I am really behind on posting, so I'll have to slowly catch up, but not today. I figure that it will take us all a few days to get into a routine, get the house and other chores to where they are manageable, and then slowly do the extras...like the yard...since we got out first letter (I'm sure of a long line of many) form our HOA...

Anyhow, pictures and updates to follow!
